Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my membership?

Open VocaX, go to Settings → Membership, tap Restore Purchase, and sign in with the same Apple ID you used to buy. Subscriptions and billing run through the App Store. We never see your payment details.

Will my study records survive a new phone?

Yes. Your records live in your own private iCloud container. Sign in to the same Apple ID on the new device, open VocaX, and wait for the sync to finish. Before you switch, check that sync is on under Settings → Data on the old device.

How do I cancel my subscription or ask for a refund?

Apple handles both. To cancel: Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions. For a refund: go to reportaproblem.apple.com in a browser, sign in, and submit the request.

There is no pronunciation audio, and the listening exercises are silent.

Check three things first: the Ring/Silent switch on the side of the iPhone, the system volume, and the current Focus mode. VocaX plays through the system audio channel, so nothing sounds while the silent switch is on.

Why is photo recognition inaccurate?

It works best in even light with a sharp focus. Avoid glare, handwriting, and decorative display fonts. You can also tap the word you want to look up instead of scanning it.

When does the weekly review appear?

Every Sunday. If you studied at all that week, the review for that week is there on Sunday.

I am not getting review reminders.

Make sure notifications are allowed in Settings → Notifications → VocaX. VocaX does not use push to create pressure. It appears once, when the review is due.
